The AHL App Is Demanding $6k From Some Random Guy Named Stewart...Wait What?
Well I think it’s safe to say I didn’t think the AHL would be demanding $6k from some guy named Stewart tonight but here we are. The NHL’s minor league sent out notifications to everyone who uses their app tonight, requesting $6k from a guy by the name of Stewart Zimmel.
“Stewart. Since I have no way to contact you are you owe me nearly $6,000 I would ask you contact me about a payment,” read one of the notifications posted by the AHL. Zimmel, who is listed as the COO of HockeyTech, allegedly also threatened to punch someone named Ian Bowman in the throat and is having a work place report filed against him.
It continued too. When you clicked on the app it would lead you to a conversation between Zimmel and Bowman where Zimmel allegedly threatens to punch Bowman in the throat.
Such a weird scenario to play out on a Wednesday night in July for the NHL’s minor league. You’ve got to imagine that this dude Ian Bowman is owed some money and is not happy about it so he hacked the app.
